TIPS FOR PICKY EATERS
VARIETY: You don't eat the same thing every day, why should your dog? Consider setting up a feeding rotation where you feed a different food from one week to the next. At COAST+RANGE we make this easy by providing our subscribers the ability to rotate between formuals from delivery to delivery.
HYDRATION: If your dog eats dry kibble, consider pouring a small amont of warm filtered water over the food. This helps to soften the food (especially important for older dogs or dogs with dental issues) and can stimulate the taste buds. Hydrating the food helps with digestion too, but just don't add too much water as this can make the food mushy.
MEAL TIME: Have a set time each AM/PM for meals and don't leave food out all day. This has a benefit of getting your dog on a set schedule and it allows you to monitor the amount of food they are eating (over eating is one of the leading causes of canine obesity).
SNACKING: Consider reducing or eliminating treats or table scraps from your dogs diet. This will increase their hunger level at meal time and make them more likely to eat.
TOPPERS: Consider adding a topper to your dog's food. We recommend topping your dogs food with a small amount of shredded carrots, cut cucumbers, or a dollup of plain yogurt.
BAKED FOODS: Baked dog foods naturally taste great and could help your picky eater. Consider trying a sample of gently-baked COAST+RANGE foods to see if we are the answer to your meal time problems.
GENTLY-BAKED IN OUR OWN BAKERY
COAST+RANGE: Since 2017 we have gently-baked our foods in the U.S. at low temperatures for great taste and maximum nutrient retention. This means we don't have to add any artificial flavors or colors to get dogs excited about our foods. Plus low temperature baking tastes naturally great which means no sprayed on flavor on our foods. Just great tasting natural ingredients and a toasty aroma and flavor dogs love!
THE COMPETITION: The competition uses a high-temperature process known as extrusion to make their food. This process literally cooks the nutrition and taste out of the food requiring the use of artificial nutrients and sprayed on flavorings to make the food nutritious and taste good.
HIGH IN ANIMAL PROTEIN AND NATURAL AMINO ACIDS
COAST+RANGE: Dogs are carnivorous animals, so our gently baked foods are high in QUALITY animal protein like beef, duck, salmon, beef liver, and human-grade egg yolks. These quality protein sources NATURALLY deliver the vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids your dog needs to thrive.
THE COMPETITION: Uses low levels of QUALITY animal protein and low quality pea or whey protein to inflate their protein guarantees. This requires them to add synthetic amino acids made in a lab like Taurine, L-Lysine, and Methionine to nourish your pet (not natural ingredients like COAST+RANGE).
NO SYNTHETIC NUTRIENTS
COAST+RANGE: We use better quality ingredients and gently bake our foods at low temperatures so we don't have to use synthetic vitamins. minerals, or amino acids in our foods - that means your dog gets their nutrition from nature, not something made in a lab.
THE COMPETITION: Uses lower quality ingredients and a high heat process known as extrusion that destroys the nutrition in the food. As a result pet food companies use what is know as a "pre-mix" of synthetic vitamins, minerals and amino acids made in a lab (many in China). So you pay for fancy ingredients and your dog actually gets their nutrition from cheap lab-made nutrients.
MADE FROM SIMPLE INGREDIENTS
COAST+RANGE: We use simple ingredients from nature in our foods. Ingredients you will recognize, and instantly know are good for your dog (because they are things YOU eat too) like duck, beef, salmon, organic chicken, the yolks from human-grade eggs, organic sweet potato, organic brown rice, whole blueberries, broccoli, spinach, apple and carrot. So your dog gets their nutrition from natural, whole food ingredients, not synthetic vitamins and minerals made in a lab.
THE COMPETITION: Uses synthetic vitamins and minerals made in a lab and cheap fillers like: tapioca starch, alfalfa nutrient concentrate, pea starch, tomato pomace, dried egg product, lentil fiber, choline chloride, tomato pomace, and beet pulp. Ingredients you would NEVER eat yourself - so why should your DOG?
