A VALENTINE'S DAY COOKIE RECIPE FOR YOUR DOG

Ingredients

  • 1 cage-free egg
  • 2 tablespoons organic honey (set aside 1 tablespoon for glaze below)
  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 8 ripe organic strawberries (set two aside for glaze below)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees
  2. Blend the banana, 6 strawberries, and honey until liquified
  3. Combine all ingredients (except 2 strawberries and 1 tablespoon of honey set aside for glaze below) in a large bowl and knead into a ball. Add more flour if the dough is too sticky.
  4. Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface to desired thickness – ¼” for cookies or ½” for biscuits and cut into heart shapes with cookie cutter or a knife.
  5. Place on a cookie sheet with parchment paper and bake for 25-30 minutes until nicely browned.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool.

Yields: 12-15 cookies or 5-7 biscuits

PRO TIP: use any left-over dough and make into a bone-shaped dog biscuit. Bake at the same time as the cookies.
