TIME FOR A HOME COOKED MEAL?

Whether you are looking to add variety to your dog's diet - or have run out of food - it's good to a have a few "go-to" home cooked recipes for your dog. Here are a few we love, created with help from our COAST+RANGE Nutrition Experts

Breakfast

Oatmeal with cinnamon and scrambled eggs - prepare ½ cup of oatmeal per the instructions. Scramble ½ cup of eggs. Combine the oatmeal, scrambled eggs, and ¼ tsp ground cinnamon in a bowl and let cool. Pour in 1/8th cup of warm filtered water into bowl and serve.

Oatmeal with bananas and sweet potatoes - prepare ½ cup of oatmeal per the instructions Cook the sweet potatoes in the microwave on high for 4-5 minutes until soft. Slice a banana into small pieces. Scoop the oatmeal, sweet potatoes and banana slices into a bowl and let cool. Pour in 1/8th cup of warm filtered water into bowl and serve. 

Note: retain any leftover sweet potato for dinner (see below)

Serving size – 1/4 cup for every 10lbs of body weight

Dinner

Chicken breast with brown rice and spinach - prepare the brown rice per the instructions. Grill the chicken breast until cooked thoroughly (no pink in middle). Cook the spinach until soft. Chop the spinach into smaller pieces, shred the chicken breast into small pieces and place in bowl with brown rice. Season with a small amount of salt and let cool. Pour in 1/8th cup of warm filtered water into bowl and serve.

Canned tuna or canned salmon with sweet potatoes and green beans - cook green beans in a pan with water until cooked (soft to touch). Cut green beans into bite-sized pieces. Drain tuna or salmon and place in a microwave-safe bowl with sweet potatoes from breakfast. Cook on high temperature in microwave until warm (approximately 1 minute). Add green beans and season with a small amount of salt and let cool. Pour in 1/8th cup of warm filtered water into bowl and serve.

Deli turkey breast with sweet potato and green beans - cook green beans in a pan with water until cooked (soft to touch). Cut green beans into bite-sized pieces. Shred low sodium turkey breast from grocery store deli and place in microwave safe bowl with sweet potatoes from breakfast. Cook on high temperature in microwave until warm (approximately 1 minute). Add green beans and season with a small amount of salt - let cool. Pour in 1/8th cup of warm filtered water into bowl and serve.

Serving size – 1/4 cup for every 10lbs of body weight
