TIME FOR A HOME COOKED MEAL?

Whether you are looking to add variety to your dog's diet or have run out of food (something subscribers to COAST+RANGE don't have to worry about) it's good to a have a few "go-to" home cooked recipes for your dog. Here are a few we love created with help from our COAST+RANGE Nutrition Experts

Breakfast

Oatmeal with bananas and cooked sweet potatoes

Prepare the oatmeal per the instructions. Cook the sweet potatoes in the microwave on high for 4-5 minutes. Scoop the oatmeal, sweet potatoes and slice bananas into a bowl and let cool. Pour a small amount of warm filtered water into bowl and serve.

Serving size – 1/4 cup for every 10lbs of body weight

Note: retain leftover sweet potato for dinner

Dinner with grains

Chicken breast with brown rice

Prepare the brown rice per the instructions (stove top or microwave). Grill the chicken breast until cooked thoroughly (no pink in middle). Shred the chicken breast into small pieces and place in bowl with brown rice and let cool. Pour a small amount of warm filtered water into bowl and serve.

Serving size – 1/4 cup for every 10lbs of body weight

Dinner without grains 

Deli turkey breast with sweet potatoes and green beans

Cook green beans in pan with water until cooked (soft to touch). Cut green beans into bite-sized pieces. Shred low sodium turkey breast from grocery store deli and place in microwave safe bowl with sweet potatoes from breakfast. Warm on high in microwave for 1 minute. Add green beans and let cool. Pour a small amount of warm filtered water into bowl and serve.

Serving size – 1/4 cup for every 10lbs of body weight
